My name is Jason, and I love what I do. Time and again, I’ve been reminded that music and a skilled DJ are crucial to making in making an event successful. Where do I even start! We already knew we were in great hands having a friend DJ our wedding, but somehow he still completely exceeded our expectations.
He was SO much fun and kept the party going all night. The music was perfect, the vibes were perfect, and our dance floor was exactly what we wanted. No one left it all night! He knew when to keep things moving, when to let everyone have fun, and somehow made everything feel completely effortless. There is truly no one else we would have wanted behind the DJ booth on our wedding day.
And because apparently being the best DJ wasn’t enough, after the wedding he sent us a gift with a CD of our wedding songs on it. Like COME ON. Such a small, thoughtful thing that meant so much to us and gave us something from the night that we can keep forever.
Having someone we already knew and loved be such a big part of our day made it even more special. He absolutely killed it, we love him, our guests loved him, and I would recommend him a million times over.
10/10 DJ, 10/10 human, and yes, we may be a little biased — but he really is THAT good.

Jason is great at what he does. He helped the day run so smoothly and keep the energy perfect for us and our guests. I’m so happy we went with his DJ services for our wedding. A DJ service may be an expensive cost but from someone balling on a budget it is very much well worth it. He did so much more than just hit play. He worked with us to keep things running smoothly while also working with our other vendors to let us enjoy the day. He’s a true professional.

Jason exceeded our expectations for DJ services for our wedding!! We hired him from ceremony through reception. He was very thorough and detailed that we had full faith in the coordination of our ceremony music. Everything went perfect as according to plan and he was very entertaining as well! He helped hand out our glow wands and everyone was enjoying the music and dancing all night! Jason's pricing is incredibly reasonable for the top notch services he provides. He also created a lovely video montage! We highly recommend SCSM.

Best Wedding DJ Ever!
We are so thankful that we found Jason at Salt City Sound Machine for our wedding! From making sure the ceremony aspects went flawlessly to curating the absolute perfect reception DJ set that was our exact vibe, Jason did an awesome job! He really kept the dance floor going all night and made sure our guests had an awesome time. Nothing less than Fantastic 😉
I had known the owner prior from his previous DJ employment and I told my fiancé he was my favorite for a reason and Jason would do an excellent job. Needless to say, I was not wrong, and he made our wedding day absolutely unforgettable. Our ceremony was a little unorthodox, and he adapted as the officiant without hesitation. He kept our guests on their feet the entire evening. The only times the floor was open was when we all sat to catch out breath! He was incredibly flexible while also keeping us on track and able to focus on having fun. Then he also surprised us with additional services we had not expected. His pricing was generous and honestly he's a steal for the work he does. The man does not quit! Thanks again, Jason.

Salt City Sound Machine was an outstanding DJ for our wedding. Jason came fully equipped and had everything set up quickly and smoothly, and he was more than helpful and accommodating when it came to our song list, making sure every track played exactly on cue especially the important moments like our vows and first dance. He was the utmost professional from start to finish, and it was great knowing we had a talented DJ who's also local to us. We would absolutely choose Jason again for any big life event!

Jason was wonderful from beginning to end! He is very organized and meets with you way before your wedding and goes over everything and hands you a song packet right from the beginning. He has strong communication skills, he keeps the party going from start to finish, he brings his own speaker to get the party going early, he tears everything down/ sets up the day of the wedding, he takes song requests , and he’ll value if you don’t want certain songs played! He’s really wonderful to work with!

Jason did a great job DJing our wedding! The whole process was easy and organized. He made sure we knew we had as much input in musical selections as we wanted, but he was also there to offer guidance and suggestions when needed. He kept everyone dancing at our reception and shared some wonderful videos and photos with us after. I would certainly recommend him to others looking for a great DJ for their event.

Jason was Vince and I’s DJ for our wedding on June 27th, 2026! He did an AMAZING job- he made sure the party / music was continuously playing during all times of our wedding night! He made a mix of different songs that made the party want to keep going! He brought his own speaker for the cocktail hour so that guests would be amped up for the remainder of the night, he took requests from guests, and he was overall very easy to talk too and a very fun addition for our wedding! He was very strong with his communication throughout the planning process and got back to us within reasonable time and we could always change things whenever we wanted to at the last minute without hesitations! Booking
What does it take to book?
Booking requires two components: a signed contract and a down payment. When the contract is signed and the down payment is received, your event’s date is locked in.
What if I'm from out of town, can we still book if we're not there in person?
Absolutely, we can do it all online, no problem.
Do you also accept online payments for down payment?
Yes, Venmo and Paypal are totally fine.
How far out do you book?
It varies, but generally, SCSM gets inquiries a year to a year and a half in advance. Sometimes, people can find holes in the schedule and book as soon as a few months out, but the calendar fills up quickly, so that might not always be an option
I'm not sure if I want to book, can we meet in person or online to ask further questions?
Yes we can. I want my clients to have all the information they need before they decide to book. That’s why I offer a free consultation
Do you subcontract?
No chance, Lance. If you talk with Salt City Sound Machine, you get Salt City Sound Machine. We love what we do, why let someone else have all the fun?
I'm booking a wedding, but I don't know what songs I want yet, can/should I still book?
Yes and yes. We don’t talk music until about a month before the wedding. Take your time and choose the right music for you.
Ok, I've booked Salt City Sound Machine, what's next?
For weddings, the next step is that you will receive a Music Selection Packet, then about a month before the wedding, we will have a meeting where we’ll talk music and create a timeline.
For parties/schools, SCSM will reach out before the event to get any details, requests, etc that might be needed
Do you require anything?
Just a table, a chair, and standard access to power.
Performance
Do you do ceremonies?
Yes. Salt City Sound Machine usually provides 3 types of service for ceremonies:
1. Music – Typically for guests seated before the ceremony (Prelude), then down the aisle (Processional & Bridal Processional) and back up the aisle (Recessional).
2. Microphones for those who need it.. officiants, readers, and sometimes the brides and grooms themselves.
3. Officiant services. SCSM can marry you!
You can officiate? How do you play music and officiate at the same time?
We have our secrets, let’s just say, technology is our friend sometimes.
My ceremony or cocktail hour is in a different area of the venue, is that a problem?
Not at all. SCSM has specifically chosen equipment for their flexibility and mobility. It’s a seamless and quick transition from place to place with minimal set up gaps.
What about Emceeing?
SCSM loves to rock a microphone when it’s appropriate, so emceeing is included.
Do you take requests?
There are no problem taking requests. But ultimately, it’s up to you. Some people are ok with guest requests, some people aren’t. If you are ok with them, we’ll take them. If not, we won’t.
If you don't have something, can I still request it?
Yes, as long as there is a digital version of the song, it should be able to be downloaded. And song downloads are also included in the price.
Anything else I should know?
Well along with playing music and getting the dance floor hot, we are also hands on with other aspects of the reception. That includes getting people lined and paired up for intros, letting speakers know how to use the mic correctly, making sure people are in place for things like cake cutting.. basically making sure the trains run on time.
