A deposit of $100 is due at the time of the contract signing. This deposit reserves the date of the event, and is non-refundable. The balance is due the day of the event, but could be paid at any time before that if the customer chooses. Payment method can either be cash or personal check for now, but we are looking into setting up PayPal in the near future.

Due to the formality of most events, the default attire will be a suit and tie. However, if you are having a more casual event and would prefer a more casual attire, that can definitely be arranged.

You can contact Jason via phone, email, and most forms of social media. All of that information is on the Contact section of our website. We will schedule a meeting where the contract will be gone over and signed and the deposit will be paid.

People generally book 3 – 12 months in advance, but if there are short notice situations, we can work with you. Just understand that we cannot reserve the date you want until a contract is signed. Dates are reserved on a first come/first serve basis and we do not drop booked clients if another event comes along that’s bigger. However, we do not hold dates until the contract is signed and deposit is received.

Sometimes there are situations where the party just doesn’t want to end and you may want to extend it out another hour or so. Salt City Sound Machine totally understands. In that event, the policy would be to charge for the extra time. There is no upcharge beyond the normal rate for time. In addition, overtime will be up to the discretion of the DJ’s availability.

Yes, in fact, it’s strongly encouraged. I enjoy getting to know my clients and I feel that face-to-face meetings are much more desirable to understanding the feel of the overall event.

No. The DJ you speak and plan with will be the DJ at your event. Salt City Sound Machine genuinely enjoys its customers, why would I hand them off to someone else?

All equipment is 100% owned by Salt City Sound Machine. No rented and worn-and-torn gear will be used for your event.

Salt City Sound Machine is completely digital. We have a hard drive with tens of thousands of songs constantly being updated with modern favorites and classic hits. You don’t have to worry about CDs skipping or players malfunctioning. Our music library exists on a hard drive, with backups ready if needed, along with an iPod loaded with music for your individual event just in case.

Don’t worry about that. Salt City Sound Machine doesn’t charge extra for any songs that we have to download.
